Tremendous Grassroots Support Fuels Momentum for Barrett

Tremendous Grassroots Support Fuels Momentum for Barrett

By Phil Walzak,  Barrett for Wisconsin Communications Director

Barrett for Wisconsin reported today that the campaign has raised more than $3.1 million this period, and has nearly $1.5 million cash-on-hand for the final week of the race for Wisconsin governor.

Despite Scott Walker’s enormous fundraising advantages, Tom Barrett and Walker are tied in the polls, and tied in cash-on-hand going into the final week of the campaign for Wisconsin governor.

Barrett's finance report shows an unprecedented gain in support from 26,826 new donors and 71% of Barrett's donors are from Wisconsin, as opposed to Scott Walker's donors, 75% of which are out-of-state.

It's clear Tom's support comes from tremendous energy from the grassroots, while Walker continues to raise unlimited money. And no Democratic candidate for governor in the history of this state has received this level of support.

Expat Badgers and others gathered at Revival in New York City last night and raised over $1000 in small donations for Barrett. Many were dressed in Badger red or Packer green. There are many of us expats in NYC (I’m from Madison and have also lived in Milwaukee). We’re Wisconsin proud and really want to get Scott Walker OUT!! Planning a victory party at Badger bar Kettle of Fish! Thanks to Ursula Lawrence (also from Madison) for planning the party!!
