President Clinton Supports Our Historic Campaign

By Kenneth Megan

The crowd of thousands cheered as Bill Clinton took the stage in support of Tom Barrett.  His speech evoked the values he championed as President; his call for unity echoed the powerful message of our campaign to reunite Wisconsin.

In his eight years in Office, Clinton oversaw a period of peace, prosperity and economic expansion.  He successfully balanced the budget and even created a surplus (something Republicans like to talk about but never seem to accomplish.)  He was a champion of job creation and the middle class, emphasizing results over political gain.  His pragmatic views were touted as a "third way;" a philosophy that has been sadly forgotten in recent years.

The Tea Party radicalism embodied by Scott Walker and his minions systematically rejects any kind of compromise.  Today, Clinton questioned the vitality of this "divide and conquer" strategy. He stated that if our Founding Fathers had adopted such views, the US Constitution would have never ratified.  Instead, he advocated for, "creative cooperation, not constant conflict."

Today's support from the legendary President reflects the general direction of our campaign.  The huge crowd that gathered in Milwaukee today represents our grassroots strength, and further boosts the growing momentum that will follow us to the polls on June 5.  Together, we will end the bitter division of Scott Walker and reclaim the great state of Wisconsin.

Tom is the guy to get the people of WISCONSIN back to work and keep GOVERNMENT out of your pockets. Under his leadership their will be no closed door discussions or “back-room” deals
