TO: The Honorable Tom Barrett
First, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for having the political courage and will to stand up for working men and women in Wisconsin, for the state, for the people. I sincerely appreciate all of your effort and commitment to represent who we are and what Wisconsin represent, what America represents. Again Thank you.
Second, look at the election results. I’m surprised that Governor Walker did not do better. However, a win is a win. Considering the quick turnaround from the Wisconsin Primary May 4 to June 5, and Governor’s Mega Campaign Fund spent for this campaign, I think you and Wisconsin Democrats did an outstanding job.
Walker, however, simply did a better job getting more of his people to the polls. Democrats must immediately respond and debunk all negative attacks (In Wisconsin, raise taxes, undo reforms that saved the state millions).
Nevertheless, Win, Lose, or Draw, I am Still Standing with Pride With Wisconsin. If the results hold, Democrats did WIN one of the four state senate seats. So, now is not the time to quit. Now is really the time for everyone to get up and get moving.
The GREATNESS of America is that speech, assembly, press, and other fundamental rights are to be protected and secured in this country; that many people have risked their lives and fortunes so that every citizen has the opportunity to pursue happiness and a better life for their children, their grandchildren. With these rights, however, come much responsibility. It is our duty. It is our responsibility to uphold these principles so that this nation shall long endure.
Third, This is America. This is America, not China or Iran. The Beauty of America is that we should have the opportunity to resolve or address our differences through NEGOTIATIONS, in the court of law, or at the BALLOT box, not with shut-outs or armed rebellions. That’s a good thing. So I am still standing with pride with Wisconsin for having the will and courage to stand up so working men and women in America can have the right to negotiate better work conditions in this country, and have the opportunity to make a decent living for themselves and their family; and thus can stand tall with dignity and respect in the richest country in the world. This is the story that must be told.
Fourth, although losing an election is painful, I would rather lose fighting for a noble cause or trying to help working men and women in America than win disrespecting hard working American men and women, ordinary people who are just trying to make a decent living for themselves and family. So I assure you that this battle is not over.
Fifth, according to the latest election results, Governor walker received 54%. Considering the struggle that the People of Wisconsin have endured during the past year that is a very good percentage point; but considering that an incumbent official had to spend (over $29,000,000) in one state just to stay in office should be very problematic for any sitting governor or any elected official. Hopefully now, Governor Walker and others will make a special effort to work with all the People of Wisconsin and across America, otherwise, the next governor may not be so lucky.
Finally, I understand that Wisconsin Democrats are disappointed with the results; however, I sincerely hope that you do not lose faith in who we are and what America represents. But, regardless how noble the cause may be, it really should not be easy to remove any sitting governor or a sitting president on the turn of a dime; otherwise, there will be relentless anarchy in our nation. However, I must say, it was Governor Walker who would not compromise even after the people made concessions. In addition, just as the slavemasters pitched one group against another in the 1800s, it was Governor Walker using this same Willie Lynch strategy in the 21st Century to divide the people of Wisconsin. Hopefully, Willie Lynch approach will not last for 300 more years in America; otherwise, we are all doomed.
In addition, Winners Do Not Quit. The People of Wisconsin worked so very very hard; and hopefully, they will not give up, but they must go back to the drawing board. I hope everyone understands that if you plan to RECALL a sitting governor, you must take time (months, even years) to carefully prepare a good sound campaign strategy and raise the money, money, money. Frankly, in this toxic environment, this is true for any elected position in congress. Unfortunately, until we reform campaign laws, without MONEY it is difficult to get out your message.
This is America, a nation conceived in liberty and justice for all people; a nation established on the principles of freedom, equality, humanity, and justice for all people.
We can not lose hope. We cannot lose faith. We must keep struggling for a better life for our children and grandchildren. Like a river flowing down a mighty stream, we cannot turnback; and we will not turnback. This is America. This is America. We have no choice but stand tall, march ahead for who we are and what this great nation represents.
Finally, I sincerely hope Governor Walkers means what he says “ Tomorrow, we are one as Wisconsinites. We can move on. We can move forward" For America to advance, we all must come together. Rich, Poor, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, We all must work together for this Country, for the American people.
How we deal with these crucial issues will determine our moral health as individuals, our cultural health as a region, our political health as a nation, and our prestige as leaders of the free world (mk)
Peace Be With You And Around World
