Video: Overpass Light Brigade Shows Support
By Tomah Mackie
The Overpass Light Brigade are fervent followers of a grassroots tradition, engaging in informative, peaceful protests on public overpasses throughout the state. In the past year, their numbers have grown by the hundreds while their fan-base has stretched into thousands across the globe. Over the past month, I had the opportunity to film this amazing group of individuals; the end result is a very special web video that I am extremely proud of.
After cranking out ads involving high-powered Democrats such as Russ Feingold and Bill Clinton, it was refreshing to take some extra time to get creative with such a fiery, grassroots organization with a visually bold message of engagement. We had a terrific time over the last month and I have to thank Lane Hall and Lisa Moline for allowing me to highlight them for the Tom Barrett campaign.
"OLB" represents a fundamental component of Wisconsin's Recall movement - the physical and visual presence of grassroots supporters engaging in an energetic, groundbreaking manner. It's the same spirit that existed in the capitol in the spring of 2011 and it serves as a refreshing reminder that Wisconsin's progressive community is more vibrant than ever as we lead up to June 5th.
