MILWAUKEE -- The Barrett for Wisconsin campaign issued the following statement today from Communications Director Phil Walzak on new polling released by the Marquette University Law School.

"Despite being vastly outspent and targeted by millions and millions of dollars from Scott Walker and his right-wing special interest allies, Tom Barrett is in a dead heat with Walker in the race for governor.  Tom has closed the gap significantly over the past month, proving that the people of Wisconsin are simply not buying Walker's claim that his ideological civil war is right for our state.  Under Walker's failed watch, Wisconsin lost more jobs than any other state in the nation last year, and led the country in significant job loss over the past 12 months.  Tom Barrett is clearly the first choice of the people of Wisconsin to take on Walker because he offers the best chance to win, and because Tom will bring our state together, end Walker's ideological civil war, and focus on creating jobs."
