Intern with the campaign
Barrett for Wisconsin is currently accepting applications for fall interns to begin immediately in our Milwaukee campaign office. All internships are unpaid, require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week time, and are open to college students, graduate students, and recent graduates. We are looking for professional, highly motivated intern candidates with strong communication skills.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following tasks: campaign research, event planning, processing correspondence, community outreach, receiving and routing phone calls, and daily office work.
Qualities interns must possess:
- professional appearance and attitude
- strong communication skills (phone etiquette, writing, conversation, etc.)
- the ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
- proficiency in computer skills & computer research
- patience and well-developed interpersonal skills
- ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- diligence and dependability
Finance Department
Duties and responsibilities include: researching donor prospects, data entry, compiling reports, making donor calls, and event planning.
Communications Department
Duties and responsibilities include: staffing events, advance, outreach, research, data entry, writing, briefings,pitching, and media tracking.
New Media Department
Duties and responsibilities include: taking photos and video at events, video editing, writing copy for emails and blog posts, basic HTML and CSS coding, graphic design, and working with multiple databases to manage supporter data.
